J.: On March 7, 1967, a judgment of conviction1 was entered against Casale Car Leasing, Inc. for knowingly and wilfully engaging in the business of a contract carrier by motor vehicle in interstate commerce without a permit issued by the Interstate Commerce Commission in violation of sections 209(a) and 22(a) of the Interstate Commerce Act, 49 U.S.C. Â§Â§ 309(a) and 322(a).2 This appeal by Casale presents a single narrow issue -- did Judge Clarie submit the case to the jury under proper instructions?
